Arduino, Maxuino, Firmata and Sensors
hi
i have been struggling max serial object read data analog inputs on arduino board weeks , can see previous discussions not alone in this. have tried every solution suggested on both arduino forum , max forum no avail.
i have got max talking arduino using maxuino , standard firmata there 2 things don't seem functioning anticipate.
the patch using tutorial found here:
http://www.soundplusdesign.com/?p=1305
i have arduino mega - not working patch beyond analog input 5 despite extending patch account additional inputs - duemilanove fewer inputs.
the inputs need ready receive data analog inputs , these enabled toggles in patch, when example have sensor in analog input 0 numbers fed number box analog input aim of triggering other things in separate subpatch. problem if 6 inputs enabled , insert example sensor analog input 0 data fed analog inputs enabled, , when second sensor example in input 1 triggered same overwriting data sent input 0 sends inputs , , on sensors , not want.
i trying think of solution such gate or switch or resolve , ensure data analog input 0 fed right output , not others well. if using 1 sensor have other outputs static ie not routed else in patch should have inputs routed
corresponding subpatches triggered different sensors.
also .. can using arduino , max please clarify actual process when uploading board , using max. ie supposed upload arduino, select correct serial baud rate, press send right of page. supposed close arduino firmata down , open max when using arduino in stand alone or processing not sure whether supposed or if in fact makes difference.
any suggestions on great.
thank in advance... have posted on max forum greater success rate in resolving.

the problem if 6 inputs enabled , insert example sensor analog input 0 data fed analog inputs enabled,
do mean have nothing connected other analogue inputs? if yes how hardware behave because still have charge on sample , hold capacitor when multiplexer switches unconnected input. how hardware behaves.
so can either not enable analogue inputs not using or connect unused enabled inputs ground (or + 5v). alternatively fit high value resistor analogue input ground, 20k 47k , should stop unconnected inputs giving reading based on last sample taken.
