Interfacing with ADXL345 at 3200 hz

hello arduino community,

i have duemilanove , i'm planing work on project requires vibration measurements.

i looked @ different types of accelerometers, , adxl345 have high bandwidth (sampling rate), measuring vibration @ 1khz, therefore @ least 3khz sampling required.

my question is, duemilanove capable of handling 3.2khz sampling time? know it's running @ 16mhz, capable of doing calculations @ same time reading input @ 3.2khz? if not, alternatives?
