Arduino And VB.Net 2008

for little while have been trying interface arduino , microsoft visual basic .net 2008. attempts have failed. wonder if tell me how interface them. dont understand firmata using serial, in vb.net tells me access com15 (my arduino com) denied. can me? new both arduino , vb.net if take down level 1, appreciate it.
