Thread: samba - sharing directory inside another user's home directory?

hi there,

i'm @ loss on one...i'm trying use spare box ubuntu home file server. have 2 users on system - joe , jane. joe admin, jane user. i'd have jane have read-write access directory inside joe's home folder no others. reason being archiving , admin purposes i'd have joe maintain ownership of directory.

issue i'm having jane cannot access directory, though visible on network own share.

i've done far create group called homegroup, make jane member of group, , gave homegroup permission (chmod 775) directory inside joe's home directory. took jane still cannot acess share.

i'm wondering...

1. possible

and

2. if did miss?

guidance on this!

did specify in smb.conf homegroup has access write directory?

write user = @groupname
