Need Help with dynamic ._x with XML thumbnails

what i'm trying position controls movieclip sit snug next thumbnails. tricky part is, number of thumbnails may change time time, , want sure controls being snug right next last thumbnail.

here attempt of code. move dynamically, if change number of images within xml overlaps or goes far right:
