Application not Selected

i have application trying record , activate record button have click out of application, causes become inactive , unable capture screen shot. have tried on auto-record - application locking captivate out somehow. have numerous other similiar type applications , have no issue @ them. please!

just clarify earlier statement. think proper term when other application has focus blocking captivate working. working mean not allowing capture screen shots.
