Thread: Audio works fine, but then just stops after some time
so, audio , video stuff works fine while. after point, audio stops working. if try watch youtube video, there no audio , video plays couple seconds , stops , won't work more. if try use multimedia programs rhythmbox or totem movie player, start freak out (which means become unresponsive start up). problem goes away after reboot, not after logging out , in again.
have never seen problem happen before switching users, think might have that. using ubuntu 8.10. other specifications think list doing lshw:

have had success this? have similar problem.
works right until @ random time if card disappeared; no sound can obtained , sound applications report problem hardware (i.e. kaffeine says there's problem xine initialization, spotify (under wine) says there's hardware problem, etc).
happens after several hours; leave computer working all-right , when come after going out there's no sound.
login out , in again cures problem big hassle. happens same kde4, gnome or xfce (this ubuntu 9.04).
