Thread: AWN Dock installation failes/Mac OS X look-alike
hi there, not sure if i'm posting in right forum, anyway, here's problem.
trying transform ubuntu mac os x following tutorial here: http://linuxondesktop.blogspot.com/2008/05/transforming-your-ubuntu-804-desktop-to.html#comment-form
part says install awn dock. start have trouble.
after add repositories, (by using 'echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/awn-testing/ubuntu hardy main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list' , 'echo "deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/awn-testing/ubuntu hardy main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list') run sudo apt-get update, , happens:
(funny, since i'm running apt-get update...)w: gpg error: http://ppa.launchpad.net jaunty release: following signatures couldn't verified because public key not available: no_pubkey 7d2c7a23bf810cd5
w: may want run apt-get update correct these problems
happens whether add repositories through terminal or via system->administration->software sources .
must add tried changing "ubuntu hardy main" "ubuntu jaunty main", since have 9.04 jaunty jackalope.
also, when try applying theme in emerald, i'm not sure how apply (double-click it?), since when "select" theme , click refresh, close/minimize/maximize buttons still on right, not left, while screenshot in emerald shows them on left, in leopard.
on either of these matters appreciated (should try http://ppa.launchpad.net/awn-core/ubuntu jaunty main instead of http://ppa.launchpad.net/awn-testing/ubuntu jaunty main?).

you know what, never mind, turns out after followed directions on awn's site (not using awn-testing package, awn-core) installed perfectly.
question though:
if right click on "remove panel" ubuntu's taskbar (since gets in way , doesn't if have button on side restore when click "hide" or "autohide"), able back? don't want permanently mess computer, want mac-like possible. (if haven't noticed, i'm tired of human/human-clearlooks coffee themes, , other built-in ones don't attract me in same way mac.)
