if need re-install os, there way of doing without loosing precious settings , installed programs , apt-cacher package cache?

in regard appreciated.

craig

you should able upgrade cpu without troubles.

if need reinstall whatever reason though, best way ensure data safe keep on seperate partition (/ on one, , /home on other). way, system files seperated personal files (/home), can reinstall without losing data/settings. alternatively, backup data different medium e.g. cd
