Arduino + mysql database + control acess

hi guys im new here  ;)

does eared arduino query mysql see if username , password matching if yes give signal relay?  

so im thinking add keyboard arduino , lcd.

the connection mysql data dont know if can doo usb or need ethernet shield?

maybe can done... worth overhead/ ways go wrong?

if have big database of authorized uses, , doesn't change frequently, how storing information in sd card, filled on "big" computer, , put arduino database needs changing?

(if hard-coding users arduino program isn't needs, of course.)
