Thread: Help me pick my laptop

okay, i'm shopping new laptop, , i've managed narrow down 2 equally priced custom builds. don't know 1 better! major differences between 2 processor speed , graphics card, , me looks first 1 better. still don't know crap graphics cards (i bit of light gaming, older games, i'd best possible card out of cheapest cards) or quality of processor brands. i've read in reviews, first 1 has hot exhaust, , second 1 noisy. can live either, thought i'd mention it. it should noted want durable laptop. key. i'm student, take school. need work. on road 6 days week.

dv6z series

processor: amd turion x2 ultra dual-core zm-85 (2.3ghz, 2mb l2 cache, 4.4 gt bus speed)

graphics card: ati radeon hd 3200

or

dv6t series

processor: intel core 2 duo processor t6400 (2.0ghz, 2mb l2 cache, 800mhz fsb)

graphics card: intel graphics media accelerator 4500mhd

if want play 3d games in linux (or compiz), not suggest take 1 ati video card ati decided withdraw support several models intrepid. so, if want use jaunty, use open source drivers (not bad) or stick intrepid.

"intel graphics media accelerator 4500mhd" card, have no idea how supported in linux. suggest go nvdia 1 (if possible).

amd processors on intel, doesn't matter much.

noise, i'm sure can tunned decrease fan speed (or noise source?).

if had choose one, choose first one.
