Thread: What do i look for in log after crash?

when leave pc on overnight in past few days, system not resume , have hold power button shutdown , restart. new problem. log file should in , should looking determine happened?

i check syslog , didn't find errors. turns out video card dying. system still running - had restart card working again. it's toast now.
