got mine because needed in-house web development , staging couldn't envision getting 1 anytime via main distributors used raspberry pi (last checked 10-12 weeks). figured wasn't horribly bad pay $10 vs waiting 6 months got mine on ebay $45 shipped. 512 mb ram upgrade, people selling them upwards of $55 getting out of hand. admire raspberry pi keep $35 price 512 mb upgrade, impression few of going ours price without waiting long time.

think have been nice have seen schools , instructors contacted , given first chance place order if targeted towards education industry. i'm instructor myself , have liked been able acquire several of these online school i've been building , writing curriculum for.

2 cents on matter. big fan of raspberry pi...just not of resellers.

i not sure why quotes 10-12 weeks delivery time. although true of rs has not been farnell @ least last 3 months. have not had trouble getting pi farnell within few days @ advertised price on site last few orders , delivery has been within week of placing order each time. note $35 before taxes , p&p going pay more $35 - how more depend on in world are. same whether kid or not!
