Thread: mount -t cifs only root can do that

ok, i've been beating head against wall time now. why every time attempt use mount -t cifs, infamous:
code:
$> mount -t cifs //server/home test mount: root can that
mount.cifs setuid, i'm puzzled:

code:
-rwsr-sr-x 1 root root 32088 2009-03-27 15:40 /sbin/mount.cifs
what missing?

what happens when substitute "mount" "pmount"?
